The Film
Journey is a character-driven science-fiction drama about love, regret, and the emotional distance we create before we realize what it costs us.
James has built his life around work and emotional avoidance. Lauren wants something more intimate and permanent from their marriage, but James continually postpones that future.
After a fatal car crash separates them, James awakens in The Hold, an unfamiliar place suspended between realities. Convinced Lauren must be somewhere inside it, he begins searching for her and refuses to accept what has happened.
Origin
The idea for Journey came to me after I was involved in a car accident myself. While sitting in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, I began putting the story together.
The image that stayed with me was a waiting place between lives, and someone refusing to move on without the person they've created a soul-tie with.
That became the emotional foundation of the film.
Visual Direction
The real world is grounded in warm, controlled cinematic realism. As the story moves into The Hold, that visual language becomes larger, darker, colder, and increasingly unfamiliar.
The film was designed around native 21:9 framing, naturalistic performances, controlled camera movement, shallow depth of field, and environments that feel believable even when the world itself does not.
Production
Journey is being built through a structured AI filmmaking pipeline. Recurring characters, environments, wardrobe, props, and visual states are developed and locked prior to production.
The workflow combines AI generation with traditional direction, editorial, compositing, sound design, color, and finishing.
